McKenna Mahogany Resonator Guitar With Spruce Top
McKenna 8 String Resonator Guitar With Mahogany Finish
Golden Stained Top
Gregg McKenna individually handcrafts each guitar in his New England shop using high
quality woods and hardware. He has built many fine instruments through
the years. McKenna guitars are known for their consistency in setup,
tone, excellent volume, as well as the overall quality and durability
of construction. Looking inside, you will notice how well the guitars
are made and the attention to detail in the construction of each
instrument that comes from his shop. Only the highest quality hardware
is selected. You will never see imported parts used on any McKenna
guitar. The guitars are built in an unhurried small shop setting where
quality construction is always the main goal. All wood parts are
handcrafted in the shop for each guitar individually. Although some
power tools are used in the building process, much of the work is still
done by hand. Gregg has been a woodworker and craftsman for many years.

McKenna 7 String Guitar
|
The interior
construction of the guitars are built and designed to handle the added
stresses of the higher tunings and heavier strings used with resonator
guitars. Strong linings as well as sturdy neck and tailblocks inside
give the guitars added stability . The traditional body style and shape
is used. Excellent tone and
volume are achieved without having to offer several different guitar body
styles. Owners of these guitars use them in a variety of music styles.
Through the years, McKenna Guitars have proven themselves in quality,
durablity, and overall customer satisfaction.

The
Birch model uses Baltic Birch top, back, and sides. The sturdy soundbox
construction gives these guitars excellent volume and make a great
guitar for any musician.
These are available in 6, 7, 8, and 10 string models. The
7 and 8 string guitars use a nice wide neck (not just extra strings
crammed onto a 6 string neck), and the standard traditional tailpiece
with extra string slots machined.
The Mahogany/Spruce model uses solid genuine mahogany back, sides, and neck with a solid sitka spruce top.
The Mahogany model uses solid genuine mahogany top, back, and sides.
The Walnut/Spruce model uses solid walnut back, sides, and neck with a solid sitka spruce top.
Squarenecks
are used on all models (for steel playing). No roundneck models are
offered. Mahogany is the wood of choice for necks (except on the walnut model which uses a walnut neck). A 25" scale
fretboard is standard. A
solid bone nut is used and Grover tuning machines are on the solid
peghead.
Top and back body binding is standard on all models and is offered as an option on the fretboards.
WHAT'S NEW
Guitars built after June 1, 2007 have strap locks installed as standard hardware.
Returning to the origional "McKenna" shamrock headstock decal on
guitars built after Feb. 1, 2008. The decal is nicely inlaid into the
wood with the clear gloss lacquer finish applied over it .
